Mount Vernon FRC Competition

Congratulations to both Shoreline Robotics Society FRC teams for their fantastic performance at the Week 1 competition in Mount Vernon last weekend! They played against 37 other high school teams with robots built in only 6 weeks.

The rookie team, ScotBots (FRC 7118) got Highest Rookie Seed and were also awarded the Rookie Inspiration Award, which “Celebrates a rookie team’s outstanding success in advancing respect and appreciation for engineering
and Engineers, both within their school, as well as in their communities.”

Team Pronto (FRC 3070) received the massive honor of receiving the Gracious Professionalism Award from the judges. According to FIRST, “Gracious Professionalism is part of the ethos of FIRST. It’s a way of doing things that encourages high-quality work, emphasizes the value of others, and respects individuals and the community. With Gracious Professionalism, fierce competition and mutual gain are not separate notions.”

Team Pronto was also given the Safety award (Congrats to Senior Carly K. for going above and beyond!) from Underwriter’s Lab, and also Volunteer of the Event for Hang Yee’s relentless contribution to keeping both teams and all the volunteers fed.

Thank you to all parents, teachers, and mentors who supported the fantastic Shoreline Robotics Society Teams. Both ScotBots and Team Pronto will compete in their second event on March 24th & 25th (Setup 23rd-25th) at Glacier Peak High School.
